POLAND’S UNDERGROUND STRUGGLE

FIGHTING POLAND
Quick and easy to paint, the image of an anchor (a symbol of hope), composed of initials PW for Polska Walcząca (Fighting Poland), appeared frequently on the walls of buildings in occupied Polish cities and towns. A memento to the Nazi-Soviet occupiers that although in 1939 Poland had lost a battle, but the war will be won.
